Shaping Bengaluru’s Future: Advancing Gender-Responsive Mobility Through Policy, Practice, and Partnerships

WRI India hosted an online consultation under MobiliseHER on gender and mobility titled “Shaping Bengaluru’s Future: Advancing Gender-Responsive Mobility Through Policy, Practice, and Partnerships.”

Held on September 25, 2025, the consultation gathered expert views on how data, capacity development, and stakeholder collaboration strengthens efforts can build strong, inclusive mobility systems that work well for everyone – especially women and deliver clear results.

Three distinguished speakers from different sectors joined the session - Ms. Jayanthi Srikanth (HSR Citizen Forum and Public Transport Advocate), Mr. G.T. Prabhakar Reddy (Chief Traffic Manager, Operations, BMTC), and Ms. Swati Khanna (Senior Sector Specialist -Urban Development and Mobility, KfW).

The discussion highlighted practical steps to improve gender-responsive mobility in Bengaluru. Key topics included filling data gaps, strengthening institutional coordination, and designing services and infrastructure that include everyone.

The online consultation drew 53 participants, who actively shared their insights and questions, making the session lively and engaging.
